Facebook needs to be investigated

For collusion with Russia.
Either knowingly or unknowingly.
They are acting guilty.

1. K&R

Either that or they were "useful idiots" which is one form of an Agent of Influence.

An agent of influence is an agent of some stature who uses his or her position to influence public opinion or decision making to produce results beneficial to the country whose intelligence service operates the agent.[1] Agents of influence are often the most difficult agents to detect, as there is seldom material evidence that connects them with a foreign power,[2] but they can be among the most effective means of influencing foreign opinion and actions as they hold considerable credibility among the target audience.[3] Most commonly they serve the interests of a foreign power in one of three ways: either as a controlled agent directly recruited and controlled by a foreign power; as a "trusted contact" that consciously collaborates to advance foreign interests but are not directly recruited or controlled by a foreign power; or as a "useful idiot" that is completely unaware of how their actions further the interests of a foreign power.[4]

The term "agent of influence" is often used to describe both individuals and organizations engaged in influence operations. Individuals engaged in this type of influence operation may serve in the fields of journalism, government, art, labor, academia, or a number of other professional fields.[5] Cultural opinion makers, nationalists, and religious leaders have also been targeted to serve as individual agents of influence.[6]

In addition to individual agents of influence, front organizations can serve the interests of a foreign power in this capacity.[7] Some Cold War examples of front organizations serving as agents of influence, focusing largely on the Soviet side, were many "peace" groups: the Christian Peace Conference, the International Organization of Journalists, the World Federation of Scientific Workers, the World Federation of Trade Unions, the International Institute for Peace, and the World Peace Council.[8] When individuals join such organizations in good faith but are in fact serving the interests of a foreign elite, their affiliation becomes infiltration, and cumulatively the organization serves as an agent of influence.[9]

The last paragraph is outdated since years of trying to infiltrate the left failed so they figured the Republicans are easier and they were right.

4. I know

I was trying to include what the OP was saying and adding an or. Like it could be either what the OP said or at the very least useful idiots. Either way I was trying to make a point about "agent of influence" which I include Facebook in as well. They need to be investigated fully to determine what level of cooperation they had with the Russians whether that was deliberate collusion like the OP said or if they were idiots, either way they need to be investigated fully.

Sorry for not being clear. I was just trying to say they need to be investigated to determine the level of cooperation. I believe it is more likely what the OP said but the ranges like I think Trump is the biggest useful idiot of all time. Either that he is the smartest troll in the world.

Edit: I probably made my point more confusing by trying to clear it up. I was trying to expand on the knowingly or unknowingly part. I agree with you though someone can be technically smart but be an idiot in other ways.

In some cases there's little difference between the two.

8. The FEC is calling for an investigation.

Foreign nationals are banned from donating to political campaigns or spending money in connection with U.S. federal, state and local elections.

9. The fec declined to provide guidelines to Facebook

and other organizations regarding disclosure requirements. That might lead to new regulations for online political advertising, but I doubt it, and has nothing at all to do with some vague "collusion with Russia" law people keep referring to.

12. There are laws against foreign nationals and governments contributing anything of value

To influence a US election, including any spending on electioneering communications by a foreign government.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/11/110.20

It has already been revealed that FaceBook took over $100K from a Russian front to run electioneering ads and organize fake rallies with paid promotion behind them. If FaceBook knew or should have known that they were serving as a conduit for foreign interference in our election and profited from it, they ABSOLUTELY could be (and should be) criminally liable. At the very least, it opens them up to federal investigation.

That is not to mention the campaign finance laws, data security laws, racketeering and money laundering laws, Espionage Act, etc. that were likely broken by the Trump Campaign. And obstruction of justice by Trump and his associates.

Actual laws were broken and people will go to prison.

The "no laws were broken" line is a RW taking point and completely false. Stop propagating that line.

"The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them."

Probably a framed embroidery on the wall at a troll farm.
