https://www.democraticunderground.com/10029596387The police-union says that the prosecutor is not objective.
Then the other day, a police-union got into a beef with a football-team for taking a knee during the national anthem. And the PD issued a statement that they have nothing to do with this, that it's entirely on the union.
And when a cop shoots somebody or beats somebody to a pulp, the police union jumps to his side.
Since when are police-unions in the business of doing public-relations for cops?
Since when are they in the business of staging political protests?
Since when are they in the business of speaking for cops on things that have absolutely nothing to do with work-conditions and payment?

Routinely.

You see unions doing all kinds of things that are not directly related to collective bargaining every day.
Police officers are workers like everyone else and deserve the same rights to join a union as anyone else, and their unions deserve the same level of freedom of expression and action as any other union has.

if I were King of America, I would revoke the charter of any police union that had the words "Benevolent," "Fraternal," or "Protective."
Those names demonstrate they are too mobby to be a credible spokes-agency.
