Especially the ones in color. One of them looks like there are bodies of water, must be illusion.

i.e., sunlight reflected off the rings. Like moonshine from a moon smeared across the sky, one that never appears to rise or set.
Of course, it's not clear whether that was in IR, UV, or visible light ...

so perfectly depicted in "2001" - in 1968!
Even the final close-ups resemble portions of the "trip" scene from the movie!
