(5,101 posts)It has a special place in the international community. Despite a few bad former presidents and some pretty bad decisions and moves, America is undeniably a great nation.
You have strong and admirable morals and democratics values, a very rich history in a very short time. On many ways, the world owes you a lot. It is too easy to forget what have been done in the past and go for the traditional stereotype "ugly undereducated americans whose only God is money"...
It is only common sense to understand you would never have reached the international position that is yours if this stupid cliche was true...
It is heartbreaking to see what that imbecile buffon sitting in the Ovale Office is inflicting to you.
He is rude, ignorant, disgusting, no manners, no class, nothing !! His single "accomplishment" since january is an amazing and conscientious ability to tarnish the dignity and the credibility both of his position and his country.

(5,101 posts)Well, I'm out, so maybe it is easier for me to be more objective.
I was also referring more to the past than the recent years. I can't pretend to have a deep knowledge of your History, I only have a basic and general one. However, since the middle of last century, I feel that each time Republicans had the power, they made things worse both for you and the world. Not only in conflicts and wars. Economic crisis are, in a way or another, tight to some republican decision.
I agree that Bush et al were probably guided by the money more than an ideal. It is that kind of stupid move that throws a shadow on past actions more noble.
If you understand French, I have expressed my opinion in the French section. I'm not enough fluent in English to say it better
