Your nickname reminds of aspirin.
Aspirin is known since Antiquity. It was obtained by infusing the bark of white willow. It was named Hecate's potion after Hekate, one of the griek goddesses of the Moon. She was also associated to magic.
The potion being strong and bringing a quick relief of the pain, was seen as magic.
It is one of many explanations to the name

At the time I joined DU, I had just completed a couple of years of research on Demeter and Persephone. But my kids were grown and gone by then, and I decided to take my DU name from the third member of the Triad, the one called Eldest, the one who is free to travel among all 3 realms: Earth, the Underworld, and Olympus. Hekate is also goddess of the crossroads, where 3 ways meet.
No doubt TMI! Have a good day!
