She spoke about her book. She criticized 45's travesty of a UN speech today.
She looks wonderful and strong, as always. And she is not going to shut up and go away!!!

(420 posts)It is always great to see her but also so depressing hearing this smart, capable woman and thinking "what could have been".

(420 posts)mocking tRumps use of "Rocket Man" for KJU. Showed KJU mocking tRump back, saying "if tRump wants an Elton John insult-off, Un will bring the heat. That is why tonight, I am proud to introduce my new parody album: Goodbye Yellow Haired Toad; KJU reimagines the hits of Elton John to mock Trump. You'll hear all the righteous zingers like:
Hold Me Closer, Tiny Hands Sir
Comb over in the Wind
Saturday Night's Alright for Golfin'
Someone Change My Wife Tonight"
Classic!!!!

(1,408 posts)My cats ran away to the other side of the room because when I laughed my straw out of my drink and then I coughed and choked for 5 minutes.
It was the cats reaction from the straw shooting across the room when I laughed that got me going then THAT was funny.
It's kind of one of those 'you had to be there' moments to really appreciate it.
I'd buy that album though.

(17,285 posts)It is one of those moments that makes you smile when you think about it later.
At least it is for me.
The cats are playing with the straw so I guess they're over it by now.
At least something good came out of my episode.
The inside of my nose still burns a little though.

(1,408 posts)I found it on my chest this morning. I suspect Xena...
I gave it it to Sylvester and he took it to his playbox. We'll see how long it stays there. He's our neatnik.
He picks things up off the floor and puts them in his box. He doesn't stop anyone from taking things out and we know where to look for things we can't find.
Pens and pencils
Car keys
flatware
shopping lists
Wife's change purse
etc.
If we can't find it, that's the first place we look.

(1,408 posts)He said the commute would be too much (Ohio) and I agree.
If we have to endure much more of trCHUMP and the reTHUGliCONS for much longer we may have to rethink hiring him out closer to home for the extra $$, although he will work for treats, milk and catnip.
TeapotInATempest
(804 posts)He seems neater than my cats, at least!

(1,408 posts)It will go into his resume. (with your permission?)
Here's a couple of pics of him. The first is right after we brought him home after being neutered in 2013.
Hence, the "look". The second is from 2015. He's very laid back when not picking up.
?
TeapotInATempest
(804 posts)He is such a cutie! Gotta love a tuxedo cat with an attitude.
bearssoapbox
(1,408 posts)He has an attitude but it's gotten more laid back over the years. Now he reminds me more of a 'Joe Cool' type.
That look was after we brought him and his brother 'Smokey' home after being fixed. I think it was sometime around Christmas.
We got them and 3 females, BB(Butter Brickle), Little Momma, Heather and another male, Buddy that our neighbor was going to take them out to an abandoned farm and leave them.
We said that was the wrong thing to do and there was a major argument over it. We had to threaten them with calling the police.
We took them in because at the time there wasn't a no-kill shelter very close and the inhumane society and county would have put at least 2 of them down right away. Since then we've been instrumental in getting the county to be more lenient and the Humane Society is now completely no-kill.
The heck of it is, we getting out of cat rescue(after 30+yrs) that year because of health problems but my wife and I couldn't let them go to die so we worked it out.
Here's a couple pics of Smokey. If you want to see pics of some of our other cats you can go here. https://maxpics.wordpress.com/our-feline-furbabies/
I'll warn you now it's a blog that I don't do much to keep up anymore. I use this page to park pics of our cats so I can post them elsewhere. I'm not going for clicks, I just don't want to post a half dozen pics on DU. It also gives a bit of a story about them.
Sorry my reply is so long but when I talk about our cats it's kind of like talking about our sons and grandchildren.
But more so.
TeapotInATempest
(804 posts)They never let you get out of the rescue business - I think it's kind of like the mob.
We currently have 8 cats, all rescues, that for various reasons we couldn't TNR or send to the shelter. We didn't NEED 8 cats, mind you, but I'm pretty sure we send out some kind of beacon that only homeless animals can see.
I'm so glad you took those guys in. What is wrong with some people?! Also, great job working with your county! That sounds like a huge win.
I'll check out your blog. I enjoy looking at other people's cats!
(Sorry to the original poster for going so off-topic. )

(1,408 posts)Or there's little signs posted around the neighborhood at cat eye level.
Yes, we've figured that we will never get out of it but we have set a limit since there are places and people for us to take them to.e
As for not getting away from rescue, we wouldn't have it any other way.
To the original OP, I to didn't mean to stray from original subject.
Sorry.
