Senator Cantwell sends this urgent message regarding the ACA:

(Some of the addresses may need to be copied and pasted.)

"Folks,
Here is some information on Graham-Cassidy and what we have been doing to stop it. Feel free to share.

In recent days it has become very clear that the Graham-Cassidy ACA repeal-and-replace bill has a real chance of becoming law. If Graham-Cassidy passes the Senate, it could very easily pass without amendment or a conference in the House and be signed into law by the President in a manner of days. While this email may feel like déjà vu for many of us (myself included), we would encourage you and your organizations to once again engage in advocacy, evaluate the policy for your organizations, and make your voices heard publicly in the coming days.

Today Senator Cantwell spoke out in opposition to Graham-Cassidy on the Senate floor: https://www.cantwell.senate.gov/…/cantwell-blasts-latest-tr…

2. And someone please call Cantwell's office while they're at it.

"....in a manner of days."

In a MANNER of days?? I contribute enough money to her campaigns to think they could afford a proofreader who knows enough English to know that it's a MATTER of days. Glaring errors like that dilute the importance of her message.

4. I think that "glaring error" might matter to about .01% of people. Calling Cantwell's office would

be a huge waste of time.

Call Portman, Heller, Murkowski, Caputo, etc.

Don't bother calling Cantwell to correct a typo.

I just wish they'd be more careful with such messages of vital importance. And since they all have caller ID, their offices don't exactly attach priority to calls from Europe anyway.

5. Noticed it too but it's such a minor error compared to the importance of the message.

We can overlook it, can't we?

A teacher of English in Kentucky might see things differently. A U.S. Senator has no business letting something like that through, in bold face, in a message of such vital importance. Preaching to us is preaching to the choir. They could send the whole message in fluent Republicanese, and we'd still accord it the gravity it deserves. If this had been a message from a Republican and I saw that, I'd say this was written by some staffer who didn't finish high school, so Senator Rightwing, R-Dogpatch, couldn't have cared much, and ignore it even if the subject matter might have interested me.

9. I really don't want to spend any energy on such a miniscule, irrelevant error. I'm over it.

If you want to invest time making an issue of it, please proceed, but it's not an issue/error worthy of more than a scant second of my time or thought after initially noticing the mistake. That's all it was a "mistake" -- we all make them.
