(38,408 posts)He's doing the things a president does (walking around, looking at stuff, mouthing platitudes), when it recently looked like he couldn't even do that. Kelly has gotten through his thick skull that he needs to do the routine stuff.
People approve in that it doesn't look like America will collapse into Anarchy in the near future, and they can stop paying attention.
Go back to sleep, America. It's only Fascism.

(6,105 posts)He will get some credit for nodding along and not fucking it up.
Rick Scott will get the same bounce in Florida. By most accounts, he was really engaged and did fairly well. There are those accusations that the operators of the fatal nursing home tried to call his hotline but I don't think they are sticking.
On that note, I got pissy today when I was out on a toll road this morning. The tolls are still suspended since before the hurricane. Not sure they should still be around here but they are. There was a giant electronic message board saying "TOLLS ARE SUSPENDED BY ORDER OF THE GOVERNOR" . Like he is fucking paying for them out of his pocket. I was pissed that he was taking credit for saving everyone money when it will really be the State Treasury that will suffer.

(291 posts)I live in Jacksonville and any resource we have needed has been readily available. From access to FEMA and other resources have been fine. I could not have expected him to get our electricity on but the people at JEA did the best they could. My Girlfriend left for Tennessee to ride out the storm and on her way back got a flat tire and the road side assistance crew was there within minutes. less that 5 according to her.

(14,565 posts)Monumental waste of time. I warned about it several times.
There was only one direction it could go given big picture logic but the posters who were pushing those threads seemingly had no clue about that, and somehow projected numbers into the 20s.
As always, base probability is hardly a specialty of the populous in general and specifically our party.
It's still okay if Trump remains in this range but we shouldn't kid ourselves that he'll be forever 30s.

(6,356 posts)This poll does not offer any information on uncertainty/margin of error. My sense from an earlier Nate Silver piece on how they are tracking approval suggests 5% errors would be likely.
It's also even less clear whether there's any real meaning to these polls. The ones that count most tend to be the ones in November, after all!
