(30,151 posts)What is happening is the cyclonic activity of multiple hurricanes has lifted several trillion pounds of ocean water off the surface of the Earth. This has a secondary effect of lifting pressure off multiple tectonic plates therefore making the possibility of tectonic movement much more likely, thus the earthquakes.
