No one knows if he meant Zambia, Gambia, or Namibia. Since he was addressing an assembly of African diplomats and heads of state, he most definitely does NOT get a pass on this from me. To make a mistake this stupid in front of the Nebraska Rotary Club is one thing. To make it in front of the diplomatic elite of Africa is unforgivable.

The circumstances under which such a gaffe is made is important. It's a giggle if he did it in Omaha. It's a national embarrassment if he does it at the U.N. while addressing African diplomats.
