Like I said, Obama getting credit for something is NOT gonna stand, it doesnt matter how many of us they have to kill.

(54,770 posts)everything he could to keep his promise to repeal ACA, but some GOPers went rogue. I hope he can't go home declaring victory.

(12,645 posts)Paul and Cotton are talking about holding out, but will probably vote for it anyway because it's heartless. With the latest modeling analysis done by several health care entities (Kaiser, etc) ahead of the CBO assessment that show that a lot of "Red States" - Alaska, Arizona, Maine, Ohio, and West Virginia will be on the hook to make up for millions of lost Medicaid dollars over the next ten years, along the return of "pre-existing conditions" pricing, it's not as clear that Collins and Murkowski will fall in line - even if they've said so at the beginning of the week, and Caputo might bolt also.
McConnell is not a Pelosi. He's only "politically savvy" at certain levels - more patiently tactical than actually strategic. He's a dog that chases cars, but doesn't seem to know what to do when he finally catches one.
He doesn't have an ear for what is going on at the state level in his party, so all his wheeling and dealing tends to have only committee positions, Pac and lobbyist money attached to it, rather than actual policy or even pork that Senators can take home to their constituents.

(10,009 posts)If they do not have the votes, Lindsey will come out and ask the bill be pulled because it needs some minor adjustments and he wants to make it perfect, unlike the rushed through imperfect "Obamacare", or some such bullshit. Hardliners would be pissed, but most would be relieved.
If it comes to a vote, McConnell has bribed enough GOP Senators.
