(15,220 posts)Crowd funding has its place, but with all of the hurricanes, etc., I have been inundated with them, and I'm not paying attention to them any more in self-defense.
There is such an opportunity for deception with these things, as appears to be the case with this one IF the story is true that this isn't even his car in the picture. He's "blessed" to say he was sober? Isn't being sober pretty much expected when you are driving a vehicle?

(22,321 posts)But not from donations. Donations uphold the fallacy that some people "deserve" care more than others, and reinforce the system that rewards those who have the means to organize fundraisers. I want him to have universal single-payer health care that meets him where he is and provides the care he needs. Too bad he's worked against my efforts so hard. Sorry dude!

$5.00 Libtard here, willing to share some of my hard-earned income to help a fellow human being. Good luck with your recovery. Stop being such an asshole on twitter.
$5.00 Here is a little help from a liberal ACA favoring immigrant. I hope you get better.
$10.00 Imagine a world where every single person who had catastrophic medical bills had to set up a GoFundMe page. Or don't imagine it. Just keep voting Republican and soon we'll have it.
$20.00 Another centrist/left leaning idiot progressive here. Just reminding you that we're all in this together. Supporting Graham-Cassidy is a death sentence we can't afford.
$5.00 I'm a Democrat. I don't agree with anything you have to say. But I sincerely, hope this helps you get back on track. Much love!
$5.00 I hope you have learned your lesson and understand the concepts of insurance and a universal and affordable healthcare system better now. Another liberal coming to your support.
