We are all predestined to die. That condition exists from the day we are born. No one should be without health care or penalized because we are simply "human".
The "pre-existing condition" concept was originally created by the insurance industry to save corporate money at the expense of endangering human life. I realize illness can linger and be costly. But, to arbitrarily justify a concept based on averages of how long people live or how long a particular illness will last is despicable on it's face. Bean counter accounting has no place when it comes to considering whether a person will die or be saddled with a progressive illness. I've seen this close up while working for a major healthcare insurance company.
