I have 8, possibly 9 depending on how they define it.
I think I just figured out why I have not been able to sleep more than 3 hours at a time.

Seriously, I doubt anybody over age 25 does not have a preexisting condition. If you are a female, you are out of luck since become pregnant is a preexisting condition.

(17,425 posts)I have a few that turn bad quickly without meds.
And you are right... pretty much everyone has preexisting conditions. I can't even imagine the turmoil in this country if this bill passes.

A natural and normal function is a preexisting condition?

(9,066 posts)"Like the previous Obamacare repeal bill, Graham-Cassidy would let states end rules that require insurance companies to cover essential health benefits, such as maternal health coverage. Before the Affordable Care Act mandated it, about 88 percent of health insurance plans didnt cover maternity care. Planned Parenthood estimates that up to 13 million women could lose such benefits if Graham-Cassidy goes through. The bill would also end the Medicaid expansion, causing disproportionate damage to the health of women, who make up the majority of Medicaid enrollees and 69 percent of the 9 million people who qualify for both Medicaid and Medicare. More than half of all U.S. births are currently covered by Medicaid. Substantial cuts to the health program would be devastating to children, mothers, and low-income families."

(17,425 posts)Also related: I know several families with mentally disabled adults...really bad medical issues. Their care is covered by medicaid.
They are not going to fare well if medicaid is hurt.

(9,066 posts)The Republicans have admitted it's just for a win now. They don't care how bad the bill is or how it affects Americans.

I never thought I could hate anyone worse than Bush/Cheney.
I was wrong.

Unless, of course, one of their family members were to be affected.

Uninsurable.
I was born that way, bad dysfunctional brain genes in these peculiar times. My wife is titanium bionic by car accident, later CAT scan x-ray damage, not her fault.
Shit falls out of the sky.

(51,584 posts)just for the health insurance. My COBRA cost me MORE than the pay I received ($15,000 a year and I earned $13,000). I couldn't work full time since I was/am sick. I have had to stop teaching now and can not get teacher benefits since I didn't work long enough. Fortunately that was the same year the ACA got passed. Now (with the ACA) 35% of my disability income goes towards my medical expenses. I am going to go bankrupt and die, after suffering so much severe pain that I can not stand up straight, in a few years. I am so glad the GOP reps sleep so nice and sound in their overstuffed with $ mattresses.

(17,425 posts)It is just my hunch, but I think if this bill passes, the shit is going to hit the fan.

(51,584 posts)election...last Sept I found out that I am going to need expensive surgeries until I die to help reduce some of the pain since there aren't enough meds to have any effect it SO severe. The timing for this BS repeal and my illness couldn't be worse.

(17,425 posts)which should happen quickly.
Been thinking about this a lot today...I have medicines that are thousands of dollars a month that I will die quickly without. So I am worried.
I am hanging my hat on the fact that this plan has been so ill-conceived, that they have no idea of the consequences.
The insurance industry is huge, they cannot manage uncontrolled uncertainty, and the markets will go belly up.
Then, when people finally understand what they have done, when it FINALLY slaps them personally, there will be civil unrest. My opinion, anyway.
