My understanding is Graham-Cassidy takes Medicaid expansion from States who opted in under the ACA.
It chops those funds up for all States to share... Even States that didn't opt in.
They are stealing and bribing Red States with the loot.
Am I seeing this correctly?

(2,748 posts)Sure they will take the money, but that is why they want it in the form of block grants. So they dont have to spend it taking care of poor people. Leave that to the blue states. Eventually those in need of Medicaid will figure it out and be forced to move to a blue state if they want health care.
Instead they can use the money to fulfill all their sick ideological dreams. They'll use the money in red states for things like tax abatements for corporations that move to their states, thus strengthening their own economies while they weaken the economy in blue states, which will be overburdened with people with greater healthcare needs.
Block grant money can be also be use to pay for more privates/religious schools and grants for home schooling, so long as the curriculum is a good conservative one, suitable for creating lots of new Republicans.

(58,785 posts)so yes. Massive, massive theft.
Their real end goal, though, is to eliminate all our safety net programs in their entirety. ALL OF THEM.
Taking from blue states like Oregon to give to Mississippi or Alabama or Texas.
