4. Why would Kim do that? He wants to secure the future of his regime, not its end.

Virtually every reputable foreign policy analyst believes he's neither crazy nor suicidal. Also that he has reason to believe that in future foreign powers might act to remove him from office, which is what he himself has said is a reason for developing "the bomb," also to compel respect for NK from other nations.

Personally, if I fear anything it'll be a massive cyber attack, perhaps even a grid-down scenario that would turn one or more regions of this nation into today's Puerto Rico, but without hope of full restoration of power within only six months.

9. Go bother someone else with this stuff. I'm not playing.

On the off chance that there's a speck of sincerity somewhere in that question, here's a link to Foreign Policy. It's a subscription journal, presents a wide range of views, and is not the beginning or end on any subject, but what's nice about it is that if you sign up for their email newsletter it'll provide links to many of their articles for free.

7. Not going to happen. Kim is going to use these weapons

as bargaining chips.

He knows using the weapons to attack anyone would mean immediate nuclear annihilation of his regime.

The real test will be when he starts making demands. Threatening nuke attacks unless we pull out of South Korea or demanding a trillion dollars in reparations for the economic damage he claims the world has done to them the last 60 years.

8. Possibilities:
Fri Sep 22, 2017, 10:40 AM
Sep 2017

1 the blast spreads nuclear fuel over a several km radius, expanding the no go zone

2 the heat melts the site into a lump, essentially leaving things as they are

3 the blast and increased radiation wakes Godzilla who proceeds to devastate Osaka and Kyoto

4 war is declared on NK and they are overwhelmed by the combined forces of Japan, US and SK backed with logistical support from dozens of other countries while China remains neutral on the side. There are millions of casualties and the direct and indirect costs are over one trillion dollars

Of these four, one is guaranteed, one is ridiculous and two are possible. All are dependent on NK nuking a destroyed reactor...

We just need to pay up what is basically a contract to shut him up another 5 or 8 years.
