Who would want to trade his appreciative audience for dealing with Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and Fox Noise all day long?

4. What was Al Franken doing when he ran in 2008?

Air America was done, SNL was history, he didn't have a running, successful, hi-paying TV show he would have to leave. Al Franken ran at exactly the right time--he had little in the way of long-term show biz commitments going on, while still fresh in everyone's mind as a witty personality. He gave up next to nothing, Kimmel would be giving away the farm. Besides, his favorite leisure activity would end up being a guest on shows like the one he now hosts every night.

Hardly a comparable situation.
