Fundies don't spend much time thinking about how, if Deluge I had actually happened, a whole lot of innocent children would have died fairly gruesome and horrifying deaths -- or, I dunno, maybe they do and get off on it.

Everything that was killed by the flood was "wicked" - children, babies, etc.. No problem.

Aside from which, they know that most of the people they see every day are going to suffer eternal punishment.

So basically you have people who will be forgiven for whatever wrong they do, confident in the knowledge that they'll be blessed while most everyone else is damned.

It's called "Joy".

The only thing he worships is himself. He allies with these wackos out of political expediency, but he isn't going to put his own life at risk.

there's no forum for such a thing. anyway, who are you going to discuss it with? end-timers? "rational" republicans? "undecided voters"?

americans don't discuss, they preach.

Is listening to any major media outlet that will report on it.

The conservative media bubble is complete; its listeners never leave it.

Like End Timers who won't allow themselves to read anything written by non-believers.

by habit and family tradition than any actual interest in what the party is pushing at any given time. I'll bet some of THOSE people, (who might watch something other than fox & infowars) would be flabbergasted.

I am from a family of such people (conservative Irish/German Catholics) who vote straight-GOP because of Abortion. I'd like to think they are redeemable.

The Earth will end when the Sun goes red giant phase in several billion years, not until.

This pseudo-biblical bullshit is *NOT* going to happen.

Period.

An influential part of the republican party is made up of idiots who think that the end times are upon us so we don't need to be worrying about taking care of the Earth. And this attitude pleases another part of the republican party - the ones who have or support businesses that pollute to excess but don't necessarily believe Jesus is about to come back.

is the Beginning of the End, the Seven Years of Tribulation, the Rapture, etc. The constellation Virgo is in alignment with whatever and The Lady of Light will be wearing her crown, ushering in the End of Days.

Gibberish, all of it.

We have enough problems without making shit up. As for Trump? I could see him using this to his advantage. Let's hope not. But it wouldn't surprise me, not when the leader of NK sounds more rational than his American counterpart. No, nothing would surprise me at this point.

Although I keep saying that--won't surprise me--while still being shocked by current events. The world really has been turned upside down.
