2020 Democratic Presidential Ticket. Biden-Harris or Sanders-Harris?

Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders become the Democratic nominee for President in 2020. Kamala Harris becomes the Democratic nominee for Vice President in 2020. The 2020 Democratic Ticket wins. President Biden or President Sanders resign from office after the 2022 midterm election to give Vice President Kamala Harris the incumbency advantage in 2024.

The oldest former US Presidents Ronald Reagan was 77 years old when he left office in January 20,1989. Assuming Donald Trump wins re-election in 2020 and somehow manages to serve a 2nd full 4 year term-he will be 78 years old in January 20,2025.
Sanders or Biden will be older than Reagan or Trump after they complete their 1st 4 year term.

to offset an energetic, mid-career black woman?

I'm sorry, but somehow I'm offended by the suggestion that this is the only formula we can find. No disrespect to them, but both of these men have run for president before, and haven't made it past the primaries. They're the past: we need the future.

As Senator Biden has advanced their interests and has not always seemed to be om the customer/consumer side on issues such as interest rates, and high fees.

For some reason I have not been able to figure out, many "anti-corporatists" seem unaware or unconcerned about that aspect of the "big banks."

Over many decades credit card debt has driven people to bankruptcy and the banks have been allowed to charge usurious rates.

Why should Kamala Harris, should she decide to seek a higher office, be at the bottom of the ticket.

I am totally sick of these damn "What about So-and-So and So-and=So in 2020?" threads. Let's get through this year, and through the 2018 elections before we start worrying about that. Half these people, whose names are being bandied about, haven't even said they want to run.

Limiting the competition so that a favored candidate might win, would mean the will of the people might be thwarted.

It reminds me of the days when help wanted ads in newspapers were segregated into male and female-it kept women out of the better paid and higher responsibility jobs. By limiting the labor pool in this way, less qualified men found it easier to score good jobs. the best

I am not interested in limiting the labor pool for the presidency.

Germany got itself an energetic, charismatic, relatively young leader back in the twentieth Century. It didn't work out well for the Germans.

They are wiser now and that is apparent in their choice for chancellor. No charisma, no breathless adulation from the electorate, no star power-just wisdom and competence, especially in the area of foreign affairs.

Neither Biden nor Sanders will get the nomination. If either one runs, he'll probably drop out early in the primary season, after a devastating loss or two.

I'm pleased to see that Bernie is healthier, more energetic, and more politically active than so many much younger than he, but as long as there is a candidate to challenge the neoliberal establishment, it doesn't need to be Bernie.

Personally, I'd like to see a Nina Turner-"Chuy" Garcia ticket. My own Senator Merkley would be a great choice, but I'd rather keep him doing a stellar job in the Senate.

There are others on the radar as well. I have two clear requirements for my support; any candidate I support must be to the left of the neoliberal establishment, and decidedly NOT a neoliberal in both walk and talk.

He would have stayed "D" if he was entertaining the idea of another run. His goal was to stop any right ward tilt of the Democratic Party and bring Single Payer or Medicare For All to the discussion table. He succeeded. You now have hard right Repubs actually taking active positions against Single Payer. What was once a non issue, is now an issue.

I like Harris, but let her have a bit of time in the Senate. Let her build a formidable Resume. There are others out there who could become a force to reckon with, but unlike Clinton, the GOP isn't sure who will receive the baton...and that works to our advantage and their disadvantage.
