The players' checks would bounce. Then he stopped paying them altogether. Then, he got thrown in prison for bribery and mail fraud. He had years of legal history prior to owning the local team.

I don't know if they were all as bad as our team owner or what. But it was good riddance.
Trump killed the USFL by switching their playing schedule so they would compete with the NFL.

I enjoy following the owners politicking as much as the games themselves. my take on the Bills sale:

1-Most owners didn't want him in the club. Likely because they probably knew a lot about his dealings or because they thought he was a clown.

2-Drumpty would have had to prove he had the cash to buy the team, which I don't think he ever had without getting a loan. That would have opened up another can of worms for reasons that are now obvious.
