We'll get single payer before we get that.

And I think single payer is still several years off.

I know that in the NFL and MLB, the league must approve any change of ownership. My guess is that the NBA and NHL are the same. The leagues feel comfortable only in dealing with the traditional ownership structure.

The Packers' community-based ownership would not be permitted under current NFL rules. It was grandfathered in when the rules were adopted. My guess is that none of the major sports leagues would allow a new such structure to be established. All other teams will continue to be owned by rich individuals or by small syndicates of rich individuals.
