No, Prince Harry did not make the sign of the devil when meeting Melania.

This is incorrect:

What you think of as the "sign of the devil" was originally invented by the Metal-singer Ronnie Dio.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronnie_James_Dio
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sign_of_the_horns#Heavy_metal_culture

He got the sign in turn from a gesture that is meant to WARD OFF evil magic.

So there you have it. Prince Harry did not make the sign of the devil when he met Melania. He tried to protect himself from evil.

Resting his hand on suit jacket isn't a sign of anything. The only thing we can tell by that picture is how unportable he was standing there.

What I would say is that this "sign of the devil" or "ward off evil with this sign" stuff is very uncharacteristic for the British upper class (Britain in general, in fact), so there's really no point in reading anything into it.

And the horn Italians wear is not a pepper. It's made to ward off malocchio as well. The corno protects you, the mano cornuto ( horned hand) gives it right back. Prince Harry was essentially putting Melania's evil back upon herself

Great isn't it! 😁

My Nonna used to clip two clothes pins together and hang them on the clothes line between apartment buildings in Manhattan. I often wondered what the neighbors thought, if they even knew.

Whatever, it was jerk-level inappropriate.

Most kids learn this stuff long before the military, of course, but this kid's in his 30s now and should have reached adult brain development.
