A better solidarity would be guaranteed contracts, better post-retirement health care, safer helmets, weight limits (the physics of bigger and faster players isn't a good thing).

If he were a producer, he would have a job. He isn't, and hadn't been for some time. Plenty of very outspoken players do still have jobs, because they are good at them.
