3. Trump doesn't give a shit about the flag, taking a knee, the NFL, veterans, or patriotism.

This is once again a cynical political maneuver that he's made to rile up his base and try to maintain his support. He's very good at identifying moments when he can do that, and it works to a great degree. Almost everyone on both sides of the aisle fall for it every time. And the fact that that happens emboldens him to do it whenever he can. We consistently get trolled by a person most liberals consider an idiot. It's time to wise up.

14. I think he and his base genuinely care about the flag

But I think few, if any, of them have ever had more than the shallowest of thoughts about the flag, the symbolism, or patriotism in general.

You're absolutely right: Donnie the Dotard is playing us all like a fiddle. He's not smart, but he doesn't have to be; he just has to be cunning, consciously or not.

What we're NOT talking about? The looming loss of healthcare for millions, the $700 billion for perpetual war that even the professional warmongers thought was too much, the proposed tax cuts for the people who need it the least, the millions of Americans in an incredibly desperate situation in Puerto Rico, his inability to have even the simplest of negotiations with anyone he's ever been told were "bad," Russian interference in our elections, the 2/3s of Trump's campaign staff that look like they're under indictment, opening National Monuments up for hunting and oil exploration...

And if we really did want to talk about kneeling and the NFL and the anthem and all of that? Well, Donnie Two Scoops has us talking about the flag and the military (What? Why? How did the flag or the military even get into this discussion about kneeling during the anthem?) instead of talking about police brutality.

1- I would be willing to bet that Marine would gladly stand next to anyone taking a knee for the anthem

2- if a hero is a person who risked his life, a courageous Patriot is someone who fought and died for the country, what does that make a person who avoided any danger to himself and at most risked STD's?

11. Trump Does Not Know What Real Life Is
Sun Sep 24, 2017, 04:44 PM

Trump has lived a more pampered life than at least 99% of NFL players. Most of these football players know more about real life than Trump. Most of these players grew up poor and had to work extremely hard to make it to the NFL.

As long as no one is talking about the Trump-Russia criminal investigation, he thinks it will go away.
