Should we seek unity with the otherside

by trying to understand why they think the way they do?

I ask this because I believe if you voted for Trump you own him.

and I started an earlier thread on this site, a site where you can vent and by the response to the thread
I am thinking am I outside the Democratic base because I do not want to "unite" with those who voted for Trump?

I mean I would not mind of the Trump voters began to change move towards "our" values but until they do I will not unite with them
