One Flag, Two Americas.

A friend from Facebook posted a photograph of a widow getting a folded flag from a soldier, and the caption read: "I bet those who refuse to stand for the flag never received one in this manner."

I thought to myself, what an incredibly racist, uninformed post. How is it possible that they don't get it? Then it came to me that we are seeing with this flag debate is evidence of the two Americas. The athletes who are kneeling during the anthem are doing it to protest police brutality. It's a real issue in their communities. And it seems to me that you either get it, or you don't because you don't have to because police excessive force is not a situation that applies to your community, or your demographic.

So, what we are seeing is the difference between the hardcore conservatives against people who understand that we are a diverse nation of people. And, within those larger parameters, we need government that works for all of us, and not just a privileged few. We need our government to stop targeting groups of people, which is the ultimate reason that Trump is an abysmal failure at representing a diverse nation of people.

how dare they!

I was home in the summer of 1973 when the car with the two Navy officers drove up the driveway and asked if my mother was home. I have my brothers flag in the case where my parents kept it after the honor guard presented it to them at the funeral.

I would take a knee in a heartbeat if I was at a football game.

Assholes better NOT ever talk to me about sacrifice.

I knew there were countless testimonials out there to disapprove the Facebook meme, but, that's how it goes when you're limited to the people who can directly respond to it.

You can't get past how serious the high handed bullying and invectives of Trump were because it is a binary issue. The majority of the population believes you should stand for the National Anthem. The issue does not allow for subtilty.

To them it's an insulting act because "those players hate the USA."

They don't think beyond the FoxNews Headline.

And Fox News is tainting and warping many a mind that it touches.

We've gone from "one nation, indivisible" to "two nations, thanks to Rupert Murdoch."
