SAN FRANCISCO Their complaints flow on Reddit forums, on video game message boards, on private Facebook pages and across Twitter. They argue for everything from male separatism to an end to gender diversity efforts.
Silicon Valley has for years accommodated a fringe element of men who say women are ruining the tech world.
Now, as the nations technology capital long identified as one of the more hostile work environments for women reels from a series of high-profile sexual harassment and discrimination scandals, these conversations are gaining broader traction.
One of those who said there had been a change is James Altizer, an engineer at the chip maker Nvidia. Mr. Altizer, 52, said he had realized a few years ago that feminists in Silicon Valley had formed a cabal whose goal was to subjugate men. At the time, he said, he was one of the few with that view.

What I found hilarious was the men's separatist group:
One radical fringe that is growing is Mgtow, which stands for Men Going Their Own Way and pronounced MIG-tow. Mgtow aims for total male separatism, including forgoing children, avoiding marriage and limiting involvement with women. Its message boards are brimming with activity from Silicon Valley, Mr. Altizer said.

(1,301 posts)They are fighting to keep it male dominated. It's nothing new and is a notoriously hostile line of work for women. As the topic line indicates, they will fight against it. That in itself is unwelcoming of the best talent available.

(38,311 posts)Engineering classes would typically have only a handful of women in them and it was a hostile environment for them.
I really wasn't into nerd-guy conversations about cars and "babes," so I changed my major to biology, third year in.
An engineer roommate I had then liked to listen to Christian rock. He'd also go on and on about intelligent design, knowing nothing of biology. I call his god the "mean drunk" god, the god who didn't give a shit about all the blatantly obvious flaws in his designs.
But all the weaknesses in human design make sense looking at them from the perspective of an evolutionary biologist; all the good, bad and ugly.

(10,270 posts)Those are fragile little boys who have to have an 'adult' sad because...you can fill in the rest for yourself. I'm of the opinion it involves the difference between Mother's Milk, and Father's Blood. Both can feed you, if required. One is natural, the other is quite a bit more...forced and painful is a good way to put it. These are a boys complaints. Fuck em.
