It's getting to be a loss cause. I seriously wonder what pieces of America will remain standing. These are definitely not normal times, not in the least. The country is under siege and congress sits on their butts.

(67,112 posts)nothing, which validates my point that most in congress are in it for themselves and really don't give a fuck about the people they represent or the future of this country.

(29,228 posts)Trump fails to shock us anymore with his outrageous statements and actions.
What little is left of the "never Trump"ers in the GOP are now simply appearing as pundits on TV shows...
Organizing for action in Congress to actually do something... not in the foreseeable future
Many of those in Congress that he has pissed off (or even pissed on) will sit back and only watch.

(24,461 posts)The GOP puts up with and endures Schtroumpf because they want the Tax Code changed; as long as that gets accomplished, nothing else matters.
They know he's toxic for their brand (even more toxic than W), but first and foremost on any GOP agenda is Tax "Reform".

(36,478 posts)It will be interesting how things shake out. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I know with certainty, the poll numbers will not be working in their favor.

(146,338 posts)in both houses of Congress, it's not going to happen. We can change that in 2018 and 2020. If we do not, we will have failed in a way that we might never recover from. That is what we must do. We must regain control of Congress, and then elect a Democrat as President.
Nothing is more important as a goal going forward. Nothing.
