HOLY SHIT: Upon Which I Gift To You The LOL ROFL ROFL LOL Of All Time...

...no, you're reading it right: "Palin was the better candidate" - McCain

John McCain: I Didn’t Pick Romney Because ‘Sarah Palin Was The Better Candidate’
By Benjy Sarlin
TPM

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) defended Mitt Romney from Democratic speculation that he passed on him as a 2008 running mate after reviewing his tax returns, saying Sarah Palin was simply the better choice at the time.

McCain called the tax claims “outrageous” and “disgraceful” in an interview with Politico Tuesday. He said he chose Palin “because we thought that Sarah Palin was the better candidate.”

The motherfucking rest: http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/07/john-mccain-sarah-palin-romney-vp.php?ref=fpblg

With friends like these, who needs enemas...except McCain, it seems...

Too rich. Just too fucking rich. "Palin was better." Cue the next Obama gut-you-and-watch-you-die-slow commercial in 3...2...1...

TO REITERATE: The last GOP presidential nominee just announced that the present GOP nominee is inferior to Sarah fuckin-fa-chrissake Palin.

Yes. That happened.

(snip)

So, yeah, that happened. In an attempt to deflect speculation that McCain passed on Romney as his VP pick because of Romney's murky financials, McCain set the bar so low that a flatworm would have difficulty wriggling under the gap. To wit: we did not go with Romney because Palin was the better candidate.

An aging political warrior's last gasp at a defense of his disastrous 2008 presidential run? A moment of hilariously unvarnished truth? Both?

Regardless of anything else, Mitt Romney's presidential campaign now has a new rotting bird swinging pendulously from its neck. The last GOP presidential nominee just announced to the world that the present GOP nominee is not as good a candidate as Sarah Palin.

Turn out the lights when you leave.

McCain's wording isn't working a whole lot better for Romney in this "clarification." He's making a jab at the "attacks" on Romney's tax returns, but he uses the phrase "bogus tax return" in the process. It jumped out at me -- I'm hoping some of the GOP base only hear the words "bogus tax return" and associate the term with Romney.

“Some in the media have chosen to take my answer today, in response to the question of why I did not select Governor Romney as my vice presidential nominee, out of context. I selected Sarah Palin because she was the best fit for my campaign, and my decision had nothing to do with the bogus tax return attacks currently being waged by the Obama campaign. I have the highest respect for Governor Romney and his record of public service, and he will make an outstanding president

Truth fails to matter to these people in their quest to destroy Obama. McCain certainly wasn't without fault, but at least he used to display some sense of values. Unfortunately, he has completely capitulated to the evilness that has infected the Republican Party. He has become nothing little more than a two-faced bastard.

We should expect to hear from her soon. Just when things were silent with her. Sigh!

...he used to highlight 'government waste'. Polar bear research; shit like that.

He couldn't have used that incredibly ineffective approach has he selected as his running mate; someone who blew through $1.2 billion 'saving the Olympics'.

It is not my intention to defend McCain, but that could have been the deal breaker.

considering the GOP could still manage to steal the election. Though my hopes are high that Obama will get another term. The American people might be under-informed (by choice), but I don't think they are suicidal. In my 49 years on the planet, I have never seen a more pathetic candidate than Romney - and I was raised Mormon. If he wins, we are all truly doomed, and will need to do as the poster propaganda from my youth suggested - put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye.

because McCain got caught on the spot not knowing how many houses he owned (some were his wife's), he didn't want to pick Rmoney because it would be too comically ridiculous to have a presidential ticket stacked with a couple of white guys with dozens of houses, and gobs of money stashed all about... You know, it's the economy stupid...

OMG, This is the quote(story) of the year. And for once, I agree with McCain. I guess the man really wasn't as dumb as he looked. You gotta love the ongoing hatred coming from his own party, being directed at him instead of the Dems.
