Every day I will collect information on the needs of the island and how you can help.

While the American public seems to be learning more and more as multiple investigations into President Trump and his campaign move forward, there is no doubt that members of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees know much more than what we all do. After all, multiple key witnesses have already been interviewed in private, under oath, by both committees.
This week, however, Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, let the cat out of the bag, making it clear that the information that investigators are still keeping under wraps seems quite damning to the administration.
If you had seen what I had seen youd want me to go full throttle, Quigley told those on hand at a discussion he took part in at the DePaul University College of Law, while discussing the Trump investigation that is currently underway in the House.
Quigley then went on to convey a sense of urgency surrounding the investigations into Trump, as he feels that there is a very good chance that the President will soon fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
We live with the very real threat that the Mueller investigation gets shut down, he warned. One of the reasons I speak the way I do when I message about this is Im worried about a constitutional crisis. I think there is a reason [Trump] speaks to the base in the manner in which he does. Hes prepping them, girding them for this.

I am generally a peaceful person, but I think we should go back to the traditional treatment of treasonous bastards. Then we can gather around chanting "you're fired!"
So much for my fantasy.
Of course I'm "just kidding"!!!

I think it was at a fund raiser for Eric Massa who was running for Congress. He won in our republican district. I even campaigned for him. Later things took an unexpected turn.

(24,289 posts)Although as long as republicans run the investigations nothing will happen. If we take back either house of Congress and the committee chairmanships, Trump and his family and cohorts better be studying Russian, because that's where they will have to flee to.

(5,730 posts)That stolen seat could very will change the nature of our democracy, assuming we are even still a democracy. Jurisdiction? States' rights? Remember Bush v Gore, which, against all precedent, and against the Constitution, reached down, and overturned the State Supreme Court of Florida decision, in an area that is clearly reserved for the states.
Unless a number of Republicans revolt, in all branches, we are fucked. We, the people, have to keep screaming and making the consequences of the Republicans decisions known to all. The brave disabled people who demonstrated at Orin Hatch's hearing deserve awards.

(10,533 posts)I realize the investigation needs to run its course, and we don't want to create chaos and mayhem. But the public has a right to know this information before he can do more damage. This information MUST come out. All of it, and soon.

(11,583 posts)...here in America and all over the world--so much at stake, and wtf for?
Putin is only part of it.
We are looking at a whole class of psychopathic capitalist predators that do not care a twit for others and know they are above accountability. There are so many of them and the problem is so huge. The Dotard even said that he has friends that go to Africa to get rich. They leave people there fighting with machetes over scant resources. People in Puerto Rico and other nearby islands are on their own as they are facing a desperate situation. They likely won't even get the so-called help we send to Iraq to "rebuild"--because the territory is worthless to the monsters in power.
The Dotard has already thumbed his nose at the UN.
We are all putting faith in an election system and a justice system that we know have already failed us.

(14,491 posts)"Psychopathic capitalist predators" are at the root of most all our problems. And they play a complacent, dumbed-down lemming-like populace like a cheap fiddle.
I see that portion of the human race as operating in a completely different, mostly invisible sphere of existence and they've built it so that it's almost untouchable. For example, when I first read up (within my very modest limits) on hedge funds and the complex financial instruments they invented prior to the 2007-2008 debt crisis, I knew we were screwed.
If it were not for the phenomenal amount of assets floating about only in their secret realm, there would be little reason to try to control every aspect of our lives. Almost every penny except what's needed for our basic, raw existence trickles up to them. If that ain't enough, they just print more.
Assholes without money are quite easy to deal with.

(10,900 posts)If they don't have every bit of evidence in order, the accusations will not be believed and the case will fall apart.
Unfortunately, building a rock solid case takes attention to detail, which takes time. I suspect they know that time is of the essence, but it also has to be done right. It's a difficult juggling act, particularly when the GOP controls the process.

certainot
(9,090 posts)there is no counter messaging to talk radio - - it's a total monopoly so there's no competition and dems end up playing catchup, reacting after the fact because there is no left counterpart. its the only major medium they have complete control of.
until dems directly challenge rw radio they are ignoring it. we don't even poll for it. the countermessaging should be to challenge rw radio and there are many ways to do that

(1,009 posts)they have enough evidence to snag Dotard. I wish they would just wrap it up already. Or indict someone already, and let the dominoes fall! Before Dotard destroys the planet. This rhetoric exchange with NK is dead serious! We don't need perfection here. Can't they finish casting as "wide a net" as possible after he's been ousted?!
The entire world is literally severely stressed out because of this president. Social norms have been torn apart - Turkey coming here stirring up violence...congress is having peaceful protestors dragged out by their wheelchairs....the chaos is spreading like a virus. It NEEDS TO STOP!

This will either destroy the Republican party or lock it into power long enough to destroy the country as a whole through violent civil war.

(14,173 posts)Yes, yes, they have to gather all the information, make a solid case, etc etc...blah blah blah
But the longer this drags out, the more Trump is normalized. Also the more time exists for some excuse to declare war and rally the military obsessed public around a common other enemy. So that even if he is indicted, we will have a battle royal on our hands with his army of deplorables. And it will pave the way for some high ranking Trump ally, with the same views, to be seen as a legitimate replacement for 2020.
I mean, from what has been leaked already, it sure seems like they have enough already to go public.
