Asking conservatives to explain how kneeling for a flag is disrespectful is about as futile as....

....having the cabinet from Idiocracy try to explain how watering crops with Brawndo (a sports drink) is good for them.

They're all screaming up and down that it's disrespectful, and yet none of them can actually explain why, other than it's what Trump has told them.

about "the troops"! The Sports protests around the nation has absolutely nothing to do with the troops or 1st responders it is about the way that blacks are being treated by our criminal justice system. Cops, Courts, our society in general.
Trump and the GOP has divided this country more than anyone I can remember. The GOP started it after Obama was elected and it makes me ashamed to be Anglo in this country. It appears that we have flushed the toilet and are circling around the drain. Wake Up!

Funny, but painful. Electrolytes in energy drinks are salts. Sodium and postassium, that and sugar are the secret formula that made Gatorade more effective than water in hydrating athletes. They were salting their crops, which was why they were dying. At least the protagonist thought, "maybe try something different". Painful.

To your point about conservatives, that is basically how they operate throughout their lives. Just think about what a conservative is. A person who wants "traditional values". Whose traditions? What values? How did they work? How would they work given the changes in society?

They know none of those answers. They merely operate on nostalgia and fear.

If you have to constantly explain what it is you are protesting, you have done a really poor job of doing so.

While the protests were started as an extension of BLM principles, they are perceived by much of the country to be about disrespecting the flag and the anthem. You can argue with people until you are blue in the face, but that isn't going to convince a significant number.

Having to constantly explain what it is you are really protesting means you chose the wrong platform to get your message out, as not enough people are getting it to be effective.

Which has never been viewed as an act of disrespect before, and yet we're now being told that it's disrespectful to the flag.

Why? How? No one claiming to be outraged has explained how it's now disrespectful.

by explaining what it is about you are bringing attention to the original cause which is exactly the intent of the protest.

at the hands of men fighting under a Nazi flag or a Confederate flag.

You want to talk about disrespecting American soldiers? Displaying one of those flags is the height of disrespect.

"Short" debate because all she had was "Yes, I know the flag embodies our right to free speech, but the kneelers should leave the country anyway."

There is no logical reply to such idiocy. I told her to drop it. She must have realized I meant business because she did.

Crazy times.
