(16,950 posts)glad she said that it was new, which hopefully means she's going to get to the bottom of all of it to make it all public.

(65,290 posts)than she could have as a president hemmed in on all sides by a hostile, obstructionist Congress. I hate when people, especially those who are supposed to be on our side, bark and bay at her to get out of public life and shut up.
She is our elder stateswoman. We need to honor her and listen to her--and BTW, I supported Bernie in the primaries, but I like HRC, too, and enthusiastically supported her in the GE.
I do get frustrated by all the posts that bash Bernie and his supporters. Most of us, especially here on DU, are Hillary's supporters, too. We just lean a bit further left than she felt safe leaning in public.
Frankly, I believe her core beliefs are as leftist as his are, but that for various reasons--including the fact that RW propaganda has convinced the US public that they are not as left-leaning on the issues as they actually are, as well as the fact that she is a woman and therefore felt constrained to present herself as tougher and more "centrist" than she really is--she has not publicly espoused outright socialism by name as Bernie has.
I never really thought Bernie would win the nomination, but I would have been satisfied no matter whether he, Hillary, or O'Malley had been nominated. I was delighted, though, that by running he pushed the conversation, the party, and the party platform back toward New Deal democratic socialism.
I was also delighted that by becoming so popular, especially with independents and among the young, he helped remove the stigma that socialism has been so successfully branded with by RW propaganda since the end of WWII.
I bet Hillary herself, even though she still feels frustrated that he kept running (which, BTW, he did to maximize his and his supporters' visibility and influence at the convention, on the party platform, and after the GE regardless of who won) is glad to be able to espouse more socialist positions than she could safely espouse before the 2016 campaign.
Those who know her well have often said that she was more left-leaning than Bill, though she recognized that she had to present as "centrist" because of the US public's ignorance about and prejudice against anything labeled as leftist or socialist.

(884 posts)about many of us leaning further left than she felt comfortable leaning in public. That is something that all of us on the left need to recognize for what it is and treat accordingly for the good of our collective aim. Like you, I may vote as far left as possible in the primaries, but I'm still going to do the same in the general, whether it could have been someone farther left or not.
It may take a while, but mark my words, we are going to eventually learn that the Russian interference played just as big a role in left-leaning voters refusing to vote for Hillary as it did in right-leaning voters refusing to vote against Trump.

(58,785 posts)are still pushing the same buttons with bots and trolls infiltrating all media, including social of course, to push wedge issues. Right here, right now.
2018 is coming up fast and battles are raging for our votes everywhere public issues are discussed. France closed down 50,000 troller addresses in advance of its last election, and the U.S. is far larger. Those few hundred Facebook admitted to are nothing to what's out there.

(16,950 posts)take a page from your book of thoughtful and constructive analysis. But your wonderful post just confirms my suspicions even more that a very small group who continue to force Bernie never did vote for Hillary--a couple openly admit they wrote in Bernie's name and/or post at that other site that openly criticizes Democrats in such a juvenile manner. Irrational and destructive Hillary haters are why we are here. Support Democrats.
Thanks for your thoughtful post. I agree about Hillary not giving a f**k anymore and that being ultimately helpful. I really do think she's motivated to get to the bottom of this Russia deal. She also mentioned voter suppression. Everything she talked about last night and recently are urgent matters. She should never be told to be quiet, you are right.

(10,828 posts)He will no doubt lash out. And Hillary Clinton will be no less correct. The 'who knew Healthcare was so complicated' genius has no idea what's in the bill. Worse, he has no curiosity to familiarize himself with healthcare or anything else. Because he doesn't care; he just wants applause, admiration and constant attention.?
But we knew that, right?
I thought GW was a dullard. Wrong! Hands down Trump takes the dullard category to a whole new level.
As for Hillary Clinton? She was on tonight. What an opportunity we missed. Still makes me furious.

(1,353 posts)Not just about her book, she really is taking it to Trump: he knows what he's doing in appealing to low of the low... Not talking about Puerto Rico, not even his top cabinet/advisors is obvious...basically don't care...
I want her co hosting MSNBC the day Trump leaves/resigns/gets impeached...
