Why do people have use derogatory words to make their point?

People used the "n" word in the description of a man who voices his ideas and beliefs. We all are put on earth to be our own person. The fire chief that called Mike Tomlin the "n" word should be fired immediately! No reason for this unless these people are so insured.

and call names instead of explaining what they mean in words that can be discussed and disputed. They do not feel strong enough to argue their beliefs in transactional situations. Calling names puts a halt to conversation; exchange of ideas is what they fear.
