Anderson Cooper is speaking to NYT reporter Maggie Haberman, and she is saying that Trump blatantly stated that he was trying to get his base worked up on purpose by making those inflammatory comments about the NFL (Haberman said that others around him stated explicitly that his base is white and working class and they want to get them worked up). She also said that he was far more concerned about how his striped pink tie would "play" in Alabama than the tragedy in Puerto Rico. He was obsessed with his ratings and whether his comments would get play than the absolute tragedy in Puerto Rico. Once again, Trump reveals that he is a deeply callous and utterly cold-hearted monster.
Every single time we hear what the "pres" does and says behind the scenes I still am not able to believe that we have elected someone this incredibly shallow and deliberately narcissistic. He really thinks that he's living a reality tv show, and he has no concern for the suffering that he ignores (unless he can get some tv coverage out of it).
Trump has huge failures facing him -- Puerto Rico is his Katrina, the Health Care "repeal," the Russia investigation, a big black eye from his "supporters" like Bannon making Trump look like an idiot by campaigning for the other candidate in Alabama. But he's worried about his pink tie...

(10,136 posts)did Cooper and his network give Trump in 2016? Sorry, you're at least partially responsible for his being in office.
