...But it also indicated that Democrat Doug Jones will be a formidable candidate against either GOP candidate even in the deep red state.
The automated landline telephone poll conducted by Emerson College in Boston put Jones - who won the Democratic primary outright - in a statistical tie with either Moore or Strange as opponents...

we lost some special elections it felt like we should have won, and no one remembers close calls months later.... but if a Dem could even get within 6 or 7% in AL that would give me a lot of hope.

He wanted the 10 Commandments in front of the Courthouse.

I enjoy Dotard losing, but he will be to the right of the most extreme RW Senators.

and she said everybody she talked to in the state disliked both candidates but at least Moore stands up for his principles . Or something like that. Maybe the Dems will have a chance if we can get people to show up and vote.

At the continental breakfast there were a bunch of us (various races) in the lobby and FOX news was on. The others in the room, several were from Alabama, were pretty vocal and pissed off when FOX showed drumf's sonofabitch quote...like really disgusted. One guy said he has been pissed ever since drumf mocked the challenged reporter. One Alabama guy brought up drumf had been in the state to do the Strange rally.
I know nothing about their state politicals but clearly having drumf at the rally, the biggest national/state media takeaway from it was the SOB comment and drumf's ranting sure seemed to turn off a number of Alabama folks if the people in the room with me are any example of locals' reactions.

embarrassing. I never use such words around my family or people I don't know even, though I may cuss like a sailor with some friends and on here.

DT was the one disrespecting the country. Totally inappropriate. Unprofessional. Unpresidential. I bet some of those Alabama men would never say that in front of their wives.

The damage he's going to do in the Senate is very scary.
