I could be wrong but the 220% tariff on Bombardier seems insane...

The planes in question are part of a deal in which Boeing doesn't even have competing planes to offer as an alternative. Also as stated below over half the components of the planes are manufactured in the US by 22,000 employees across 17 states.

Boeing is also one of THE largest receivers of US government aid. Nice job Trump admin. You aren't evening out the trade imbalance. You are pushing companies to do business elsewhere.

. . . in Kansas as well. I see there is the big parts thing here, but didn't they at least used to build some of their models in Kansas?

Oh, they'll say they can but it's grandstanding nonsense that will negatively affect US jobs!
Idiotic idea

The US plant you and I are talking about seems to only fully assemble their learjet. I think the CSeries in question is assembled in Quebec.

Thanks. However, there's this, as well. Trudeau is, apparently, a charming fellow:

It was expected to cause 88,000 installer job losses and stifle the installation of them.

Sounds like exactly the thing Trump would do. Kill an industry that he simply dislikes out of some childish impulse. One that is actually at the forefront of innovation, job creation, and saving the dying planet. Nice.
