Trumps strategy for selling his tax reform plan is to outright lie about it

The tax reform plan Donald Trump announced yesterday (pdf) is a dream for many of his wealthy Republican backers. It will likely let them keep millions of dollars away from the Treasury by eliminating the alternative minimum tax (which essentially prevents rich people from claiming too many tax breaks) and the estate tax, while slashing the rates rate paid by corporations and by the richest individuals.

It’s not going to work out so well for two other crucial constituencies, however: GOP deficit hawks and Trump’s millions of working-class voters.

How is the administration dealing with the displeasure of these groups? Well, as the New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza points out, by straight-up lying:

But for some reason, President Trump can blurt out the most patently false, easily disproved turd of nonsense, and every media outlet in the country reports it straight up. Days later, they might concede that Trump was full of shit, but by that time, the lie has leavened the whole loaf, and has passed into accepted wisdom.

But we need to stop the cult growing and energize & mobilize everyone else. The GOP sleazebags are happy to lie right along with him. And we can't even depend on the MSM to clear and consistently call out his their BS.

We need a bigger operation to expose all these freakin lies! If only George Soros and other wealthy Dems were willing to fund, along with our donations, a massive, expertly managed counterattack.

I don't mean lie like the Pugs, just make it rain facts every single day.
