Is poorly disguised code for, "I'm an insensitive jerk who isn't going to change."
Sorry, a co-worker just said that, and I had to vent....

(3,469 posts)He was whining about political correctness and I said, "So what you're saying is you miss being able to call people spics, gooks, chinks, kikes, wetbacks, ni**ers or any of the other derogatory ethnic slurs that you use to be "allowed" to use but I bet you'd be the first to complain if someone called you white trash or an ignorant cracker."
I usually respond to people complaining about political correctness by saying, "political correctness isn't new, it just use to be called good manners."

9/10 times I get some response about telling it like it is, or some such. I follow up with:
So you don't care about how others might feel? Is that what you've learned in life? To not care about other people?
Stammering usually follows, often accompanied by insults.

(82,849 posts)Some knucklehead (friend of a friend) said, in effect, that even though President Trump may be a son of a bitch, he's our president, and if people got behind him, maybe he could achieve some good things.
Using the recent health care reform fiasco as an example, about how NOBODY thought the Senate Republicans' proposal was worth a damn, I asked what "good things" he thought Trump might accomplish if everyone just played nice with him.
The reply was along the lines of "I don't want to get into an argument." I left it at that, but internally I thought, "Really? Then why are you posting such asinine stupidity?"

Too dumb to argue with.
I don't care what anyone calls me, but then that *IS* a part of white privilege.
