I am not doing anything other than donating money, so I am not judging anyone else other than those who it is their fucking JOB to do something, like Trump.

(6,324 posts)Go down carrying enough food for the duration he plans to stay, means to prepare it, at least 2 ways to filter water and a well stocked first aid kit.
Anyone going down needs to be totally self suffiencent and carry everything they will need for as long as they plan to stay, so they don't put a higher stain on the already destroyed distribysystem or use up resources meant for the victims.
If a list can help I can post some links to so workable filters and freeze dried food supplies at decent prices.

(6,324 posts)People going in to a place short in potable water and food who come in without carrying food and a means of water to support themselves just make the problem that much worse.
You never deploy people to a disaster zone without the means to take care of the life support for them without further taxing the area your trying to help.
Freeze dried foods are light, as are water filters. You can pick enough for 2-3 weeks in a checked bag on a flight. A small multifuel camp stove will run on whatever fuel you can get and will consume tiny amounts so what you use won't be a burden, since you can't fly with the fuel.
People who go down to help and then get there with not means or plan to care for themselves become another mouth for all the system that can't feed the victims now to feed.
