Even if every thing that is investigated is found to be true, including the Steele dossier, his base will stick with him. Why?
Because they have invested part of their soul in him. They cannot admit to such a huge and dangerous blunder as voting for this sociopath. (psychopath?)
They have managed to mentally block out all the sordid truths about Donald Trump and are living with the fantasies of their own making.

(10,602 posts)As much as the Trump lovers are they are basically KKK in their souls. They are just as sociopathic and Trump and even the GOP. Look at all the goons the GOP has elected. Fox & Gohmert & Scalize. are three good examples.

(17,606 posts).. a whole chunk of them didn't blindly follow trumps candidate...not even to go to Stranges rally to hear their beloved leader. Who did they go to see? BANNON! and if we as Dems don't support one another...BANNON will be the next Messiah these RWNJs will vote in!
They don't care who carries their message of hate and white power...WE HAVE to stick together and even if Mickey/Minnie Mouse is chosen as the Dem candidate and as long as he/she isn't a not a nut job.. then we all must back one candidate! We must commit!

(7,411 posts)They didn't follow Trump's lead but went even further into the "deplorable" mire for which he stands. That's not really much of a deviation, especially when others so closely affiliated with Trumpism -- Bannon and Nigel Farage -- were stumping for Roy Moore. There was plenty of Trump on both sides of that election.

I can tell you these people will never change. The culture from which they spring reinforces their fears and intractability.
