GOP Believes Disasters Are Local Problems. They Want To Send Everything Back To States.

The GOP libertarian side believes local government is best to handle ALL problems. They want private companies, churches and charities to handle problems they deem domestic problem. Puerto Rico is the ultimate in the "personal responsibility" mantra.

would have to deal with their own problems?

2. GOP Has Not Given Up On Reagan's Original Idea Devolving Federal Authority Back To States.

Reagan supported the Idea of giving most federal responsibility back to the states. They believe in"block granting" programs back t the states. Look at what they have in mind with Medicaid. FEMA, EPA, Social Security, Medicaid etc you name it. They believe all domestic program responsibilities should be block granted with each state setting up it own agencies. That means 50 different programs for each operation.

Of curse the money is reduced and so is the federal work force.
