From the 32nd floor killing 50 and injuring 200 - he must have just sprayed the crowd. Horrible.
That's a serious amount of rounds.
Having been to Vegas a few times, I always thought OF ALL PLACES it was weird that you could open the window in a hotel room. MGM Grand was the last place I stayed at (a few years ago) and when we first got there I saw that you could open the window. I guess it's a "whatever goes in Vegas" thing so smoking is accommodated but it just seemed odd to me. I've never been in another hotel room that had windows you could open especially on higher floors.

(21,786 posts)the shooter would likely have just taken a sledgehammer to the window if he was determined to shoot from there. Not being able to open the window isn't going to deter someone like that.
