(10,419 posts)Condolences are "sincere" or "heartfelt" - not WARM.
Another case of Mr. Tonedeaf not able to convey a single genuine human emotion. He probably hasn't figured out to make it all about him yet.

(60,791 posts)even recommended on various sites about how to express sympathy. (I really can't recall seeing it before.)

(167,106 posts)but THESE deaths were due to a crime of epic proportions.

(60,791 posts)I don't expect him to come up with the right words, especially on Twitter.
BumRushDaShow
(167,106 posts)He tried to fake "sound" sympathetic. Pelosi's tweet was more dramatic to underscore the tragedy.

(46,054 posts)It may not be the most common phrasing, but it's not that unusual either. I saw it on cards and expressions of sympathy after the deaths of my parents and it didn't bother me then.
I'm much more concerned that we continue to do nothing in the this country to control access to guns like those used in this horrific event than in the way condolences are expressed.

(167,106 posts)for people who have passed due to a variety of reasons (illness, old age)... but not after what has amounted to the worst mass casualty incident in modern (i.e., not counting wars or past race riots, etc) U.S. history.

(93,360 posts)if it was a person of color he would have tweeted earlier and called for bans, deportations and all the other shit.
BumRushDaShow
(167,106 posts)He would have ranted that at least the shooter was dead and that the U.S. was rid of such scum.

Note the difference in tone!

(53,546 posts)His tweet would be more like "see . . . Puerto Rico isn't so bad now, is it" or "the most tremendous, biggest shooting and it hasn't been a year I'm in office." Trump doesn't "do" condolences.

(17,544 posts)Why exactly? Just curious....
Because this is too sociopathic and lacking empathy? That there are people in the White House far worse?

Who says something like that?
Warmest condolences?
The man is seriously ill and out of touch....I don't think he knows how to express emotion or even to understand how to communicate. Obviously he doesnt even read back his own words to himself and think about what exactly he is saying....
Yeah....for him this is warmest....

(25,596 posts)probably someone in the office with some sense of decency did. But, then again I don't know if anyone has a sense of decency there.
BumRushDaShow
(167,106 posts)is nonsensical in light of what caused the deaths. Especially from someone didn't give a shit about Puerto Rican deaths.
