Who is Jim Bates?

An acquaintance shared a post from a Jim Bates on Facebook and I suspect it's another false flagish meme.

"I live in Puerto Rico. We ARE getting help. From Army, Navy, FEMA, Volunteer Ministers and celebrities. Turn off CNN. They lie."

I forget what it is called. In his "about" section. His likes or whatever that stuff is called in his "about" section on his timeline. You'll see a bunch of stuff in the Russian language.

He shares the bunker with 999 other “Jim Bates,” all spreading right-wing-enabling crap online.

11. I click through on Facebook posts like that

Sometimes it appears that there is a real person behind a Facebook account, but many times I have clicked through to find some stock photo, no history, no posts, and five "friends" or fewer on their account page. Sometimes with the female puppets, it will say, "If you want to see what Donna shares with his friends, sent him a friend request."

The first time I called out such an obvious puppet, I was a little nervous. But nothing happened. Nothing has ever happened to me for calling out a fake Facebook post. These accounts are set up and abandoned once the troll has spread his disinformation. Click through on Jim Bates and see if he has any friends or history. If he doesn't, call out his post as the stuff and nonsense that it is.
