As mass shootings continue to increase in frequency and intensity, Americans need to see the true cost of our current gun policy. This means showing, in graphic detail, the true horrific carnage wrought by gun violence in order to penetrate the deep walls of denial preventing rational gun policies. Nothing short of that will make a difference.

Vietnam war opinion started to turn when images of bloody, mangled bodies were shown to the public. "Oh, that's what war looks like? I'm against it."
Same with gun violence. If we as a country can be so pro killing machines, we deserve to be shown the results. It is a small cost to pay for these "freedoms"

(17,862 posts)The mother had an open casket without body preparation. I thought if my child had died at Sandy Hook that I would have done the same thing. Given those god awful truthers I would even dug up my child if they paid for it.

(13,859 posts)our big sporting events the same day these horrific tragedies take place. Sure, the broadcasters lower their voices and speak solemnly about the loss of love ones. Then, it's back to the game with fans screaming and insulting the opposing team. Nothing is going to interrupt our lives unless someone we know is directly affected by these tragedies. The media helps sanitize the carnage by allowing us to pretend out fantasies are more important than reality.
