Put aside the damage the Trump administration is doing to us all as Americans for just a second.
How long can this internal dysfunction in the White House go unchecked? These things have a way of just deteriorating rapidly.

(43,191 posts)Sessions, Price, Tillerson--none of them are good guys and yet Trump still creates problems with them.
"A house divided against itself cannot stand."--Some old guy from long ago, I forgot his name. I think he had a beard.

(115,829 posts)He's had a little success in making the trains run, if not on time, at least without derailing every day. But he has control only over WH staff, not the administration itself, and I expect that at some point he will get sick of watching the chaos.

(1,580 posts)I really think there was more press coverage of drumph throwing paper towels and other moronic conduct than any news of the repuke controlled house letting CHIP expire, etc. God knows what horrible things have transpired in the house while president cretin gets all the attention.

(54,436 posts)We had a clueless president in W, also, but Cheney realized that during the campaign, which is why he took the VP job for himself--not only to get rich, but also to hold the hand of a president who had no idea what he was doing, and knew it.
Now, once again, we have a president who has no idea what he's doing. But this time, he has no one competent around to help him out, and an ego too large to admit his (and therefore, our) predicament.

(14,568 posts)the Rs will NOT do anything about him, regardless of how bad it gets or how serious the dirt is on him, cause it is what they now to begin with, but as you noted, they know what would happen to the party if they did (it WOULD splinter).
As long as they go along with it, their association of hatefulness will stick together because however unhappy they may be with each other, they have absolute disgregard for their shared enemy - the liberal boogyman they need to have in order to have something in their minds that is more vile than they are. As long as the liberal is out there, they are justified in all the crazy ass shit they do.
