The cover story, Does God believe in Trump?, tackles the presidents personal religious history and alliance with white Evangelicals, a demographic that helped Trump win the 2016 election.
In the piece, Nina Burleigh examines Trumps relationship with various religious groups, federal policies relating to religion and the pious figures who counsel him.
The Newsweek story takes direct aim at Trumps record as president, seeming to compare him to Satan based on the number of lies he has told during his time in office.
Millions of white conservative fundamentalists who take the Bible literally are awaiting the fulfillment of its prophesy about the apocalypse the end of days which will feature the rise of an evil force that will briefly rule the world, the piece reads. He goes by many names, among them the Prince of Lies.

That's all.
No need to look deeper - it ain't deep to begin with.
If claiming to believe in the flying purple people eater brought accolades and praise, Trump would claim to be the son of the flying purple people eater.
