No, he's not a benevolent person who occasionally does evil things.

If you haven't seen it, it's not self-deprecating as in "I really could pronouce it this way". It was ridiculing the accent, just as he publically ridiculed the disabled reporter.

looks like a saint, compared to Trump. I wouldn't thought you could get more cluelessly cruel than to mock a woman on death row. Trump, has shown a thirst for executing even accused miscreants and is quick to defame those who disagree with him. The "lock her up" thing toward an opponent is far beyond the norm. The "swift boaters" were beyond the norm, but at least Bush didn't jump on their meme. Had it been Trump, he would have used it in every speech.

He also reminds me of the great NBC series Hannibal, where the cannibal's shrink describes him putting on his "person suit". I think of that when The Dotard thinks he's being cute and fails bigly.

how little the current U.S. government cares about you.
You are U.S. Citizens and deserve far better.

One of the key reasons they don't care is you don't get to vote in presidential elections. So you are no threat to them.

I wish you could all temporally move to Florida by 2020 and do two things 1 buy guns and two register to vote. Doing those to things will at least insure the Florida GOP won't sleep at night.

They don't want gun control... unless dark skin folks are arming themselves and........

They know that you could easily change Florida to a blue state and elect a democratic president who would care about all Americans.

This CBS News correspondent seems to keep good track of progress there. Scroll down to his post from Saturday see his summary. Also, he shows some good info on Hurricane Nate damages on the Gulf:

where the hell are the voices of Puerto Rico's governor Rossello and Representative Gonzalez, speaking up about ongoing difficulties, as the mayor has?

When I look at their Twitter pages, all I see is a lot of pie in the sky photo ops, mostly of them - and mostly in meetings under squeaky clean conditions.

Why do these people white-wash and politicize a disaster?

It's just strange to us non-political types that we see stories of ground-level suffering that are still significant (and have seen this with almost all disasters), yet the top politicians make it sound like everything's coming up roses. Thanks goodness we have some media organizations to help counter-balance that trend of hubris - particularly with reactionary people like Trump on office.

when local politicians fear retribution for simply relaying any negative facts from the ground in an emergency. I keep reminding myself it's been almost a month since the hurricane struck, and there are people still without adequate food and water.

Republican's attitude of let the cards fall where they may and deal with the consequences later is killing a lot of folks. Laissez-faire is a very nice philosophy to adhere to when you're among the ultra-rich.

A normal prez would tell us the truth about what's going on in PR and have his subordinates provide accurate periodic progress updates to the public - say for water and food, infrastructure, etc. Instead, we're seeing not much more than his tweets in the news which are mean, cruel and mostly lies. As you know, this guy ain't normal. It's like trying to listen to opera with a jackhammer in the room.

I've believed all along that tRump does not orchestrate these responses, but instead has a group of very sharp and coordinated minders that design his responses for maximum confusion, distraction and anger in his opposition (that would be us) and the press, as well as feed red meat to his base.

Therefore, we're constantly distracted from the truth of what's really going on there.

For some relief form his bullshit, here's a link to a guy that really does know the story. His father is in one of the worst-hit areas: https://twitter.com/NelsonMRosario
