So dont tell me because youre frustrated about what happened in my DNC race ... or anybody elses race that you gonna throw your hands up, he added. Thats a bunch of crap right there. Buck up! ~ Keith Ellison

(25,518 posts)... Like I said, Keith is the ultimate team player, waiting "on deck" for his "turn at bat"... don't worry, it's coming! And when it does, look out... expect a grand slam!!

(7,350 posts)Sorry I can't figure out what you are saying-getting lost in the metaphors.
I assume that Perez has not told Ellison that he can't speak out or that you don't have the answer to my question.
InAbLuEsTaTe
(25,518 posts)and have had a job working under a boss.
Most working people have enough common sense that they don't need to be explicitly told by the boss that they shouldn't "speak out" on certain subjects, acting like they have the authority to make statements and decisions, as if they're in charge. In my case, I patiently waited my turn ( "on deck" ) for my chance to get promoted to that position and once installed ( "at bat" ), I proceeded to make great strides running things ( hitting a "grand slam" ) in my former boss's place.
Keith Ellison will make a fine DNC Chairman in the next go-around... til then, he'll play "second fiddle" - that's a musical expression, perhaps, more familiar to you - and let Tom Perez take the lead.

about whether I am familiar with certain sports or have not worked for "a boss."- or whether I need to be schooled in the term "second fiddle."
Thanks for your elaboration-I do think, however, that too much hierarchal thinking/behavioral expectations applied to democratic institutions can be problematic.
In terms of metaphors I was referring to getting lost in your mixing of metaphors.
I just sent Tom Perez my questions and will also write to Keith Ellison.

(15,651 posts)This is what we need today a leader that will be bare knuckles and smack the GOP in the mouth.

(7,350 posts)We will need a label for Perez if he becomes less elite in the eyes of those who publish the labels.
How do we label someone who moves from "elitist to "less elite? Can an elitist flip suddenly to become "non elitist" and if so what does that person need to do flip, and who decides?
And start saying Trickle down economics is voodoo

(479 posts)you won't like him. He is steady as he goes, smart, and skillful if given support and the chance. We don't need to yell and scream. We need to work the grassroots circuit one percent downhill at a time. I think he does need to be more visible on TV but remember, he is not the one running for office. He is as effective as Steele and Priebus. Give him a little time and do not join in the Democrat bashing.

This is an extremely serious election. Everything is on the table. Including our Congressional districts in 2020.
We have a chance to go out to Bedminster on a bright crisp Wednesday November morning and moon Trump.
We "see" him here.
Yes - those things you wrote are important - but not right now.
Eye on the prizes - NJ and VA.
I'm going to say this - I believe that Phil is going to win. And he will be a very effective attack dog in 2018. He's another guy who worked for Obama.
This is a big fucking deal and chance to flip the bird at 45.

(71,542 posts)if only Democrats would say the right words, all would be right with the world. Too bad the voters handed all the power to the Republicans in 16...bad move. Have patience. I do think we have a shot in 16.
