"...The deal would extend key Obamacare payments to insurers for two years and give states more flexibility to change Obamacare rules....The deal would restore $106 million in Obamacare outreach funding that was cut by President Trump, according to a Democratic aide.In a concession to Republicans, the deal would also amend a "guardrail" in Obamacare to give states more flexibility to change rules through a waiver. States would now be allowed to make changes as long as they allowed "comparable" affordability to consumers, according to Alexander, He said minimum standards for what insurance must cover has not been changed, which represents a priority for Democrats negotiating the compromise..."

(15,408 posts)he'll say he lit a fire under congress and they acted. (As it WTF, if you hadn't acted they would not have been forced to act you idiot).
But he'll take credit.
Schumer likes it too so it might be a good stop gap. I do hate that it is only 2 years, gets the GOP through midterms.
There was an article in NYTimes yesterday about how hard Arkansas will be hit. It quoted Trump supporters who owe their jobs to ObamaCare who voted for Trump saying it wasn't Trump's fault! They were referring to the CSR cuts! Reasoning: He had to act because Congress wouldn't. Still support Trump. Gag

(68,455 posts)They won't like to destroy healthcare then either...and the longer it goes the less likely they will be able to destroy it. We can build on the ACA ...end up with a plan like Germany...using reconciliation.
